Thermotip minimizes the risk of your CoXa (and others) hydration belt freezing in cold weather.

More about Thermotip

Avoid a frozen nozzle on your hydration system with Thermotip – a lightweight and clever solution powered by any power bank. You can adjust the temperature to 50–70°C and keep the nozzle from freezing down to -20°C.

Additionally, the material is compatible with Velcro fasteners, making it easy to place the hose exactly where you want it.

Run the cord inside or attach it on the outside using the included straps.

50°C

Marathon-mode

Works best in normal temperatures, providing at least 2 hours of run time with a 5000mAh power bank.

60°C

Arctic-mode

If the conditions are really biting cold, you may need a little extra heat to keep it ice-free.

🔥 70°C

Turbo-mode

If the nozzle has frozen, you can use Turbo mode to thaw it again. This mode is run in 10 minutes.

FAQ
How cold can it be outside?

Really cold! We've tested it down to -20°C, and by all accounts, it would probably work just as well at -30°C. But at that point, we hope you're sitting in front of a fire, logging your sessions on Strava rather than braving the freezing weather.

Is powerbank included?

No, to keep the price down, we only sell the accessory itself. Most people already have a power bank at home that will likely work perfectly with Thermotip.

If not, we recommend a power bank with a capacity of 5,000–10,000 mAh and a 2A output. It also works with 1A, but for the best effect, it’s good if it can discharge at 2A (the same as a typical iPad charger).

Is it washable?
{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"Yes! We hope you’ll be able to enjoy most of your sports drink, juice, or whatever else you’ve whipped up in your CoXa - but if you spill, it’s perfectly fine to clean it. We suggest using a little lukewarm water in the sink. The remote control and USB connector, however, should ideally not be submerged."}]}]}
How long will the battery last?

It depends on several factors, such as the outdoor temperature, your power bank, whether you have warm or cold liquid in your CoXa, and which setting you use.

Under normal conditions - around -10 to -15°C and using setting 1 (50°C) - you can expect at least 2 hours of runtime with a 5,000 mAh power bank.

What hydration systems does it work with?

It fits all CoXa products with a hose—both standard and race nozzles. It also fits most other systems such as Salomon, Silva, KV+, USWE and others.

Does it also heat the hose?

It heats the portion of the hose closest to the nozzle—the parts most exposed to the cold. However, the rest of the hose and the hydration bladder are not heated.

In most cases, this solution is sufficient unless it’s extremely cold and there’s a long interval between drinks. We do recommend sipping about every 10 minutes, as this usually prevents freezing and keeps the flow continuous in your CoXa.

Is it okay to race with it?

In most races, especially recreational races and long-distance events such as Vasaloppet and other Ski Classics competitions, it is up to the organizer to decide whether the use of Thermotip is allowed or not. Considering that Ski Classics promotes Thermotip and that athletes in several Ski Classics teams use it, one can assume that this is not an issue.

In certain competitions that are directly sanctioned by FIS and included in the international competition calendar (e.g. the World Cup, Scandinavian Cup, Swedish Championships, and the Swedish Cup), however, FIS regulations apply. These include a rule prohibiting equipment powered by external energy sources, which in theory could mean that Thermotip is not allowed.

For the vast majority of skiers this is not a problem, since most races in Sweden are not covered by these regulations. If you are still uncertain, we recommend asking the race organizers for clarification before your event.

If you would like to read more about the rules, you can find them here:FIS ICR

Nozzle

You can quickly and easily attach the part that heats the nozzle and the end of the hose using the Velcro fastener.

Thanks to the flexibility of the heating coils, it fits just as well on the angled standard nozzle as on the straight race nozzle.

Remote

The remote control is positioned right in front of you for easy temperature adjustment of your Thermotip.

The three settings are 50, 60, and 70 degrees Celsius, and a thermostat regulates the temperature.

Typically, setting 1 is sufficient to keep the nozzle free from ice at temperatures as low as -20°C.

USB Plug

A classic, reliable USB-A connector compatible with all power banks. The easiest way is to connect a power bank and place it in your pocket or behind the hydration bladder in your CoXa.
